Rosalyn, a wealthy and gifted high school senior, is overwhelmed with grief after losing her brother in a surfing accident. The emptiness left by his absence engulfs her, leading her into addiction, with alcohol becoming her refuge as she tries to numb the pain and confusion.

Amidst her downward spiral, she becomes involved in a complex relationship with two others, Isaac and Emma. Rosalyn's internal battle with grief and substance abuse complicates her journey toward self-love, growth, healing, and identity. Sugar Beach is an indie feature directed by Noely Mendoza.

Noely Mendoza, a Mexican American filmmaker from Santa Barbara, is renowned for her award-winning work that combines documentary realism with narrative storytelling. After graduating with honors in Film & Media Studies from Amherst College and working alongside Oscar-winning filmmakers, she made her feature debut with "Sugar Beach," an independent coming-of-age romance.

Her films emphasize intimate character moments within larger narratives, crafting pieces that feel both immediate and enduring. As a mother, Mendoza has gained a deeper perspective, enhancing her awareness of time, legacy, and the stories that hold the most significance.
