Female Perspectives in Film and the Toronto Women Film Festival Competition
"Women's voices in cinema" is a seasonal initiative by the Toronto Women Film Festival aimed at highlighting female perspectives and creators. It challenges traditional narratives by emphasizing women's experiences through films made by female directors, writers, and producers. The program leverages film as a means for social change and includes a diverse range of voices. Annually, the festival showcases its finalists at the Innis Town Hall theatre and Carlton Cinema. This year, the finalists will be presented on September 20th at the Innis Town Hall theatre in downtown Toronto.
Each season, films and artists are selected for competition, offering digital marketing, online promotions, and screenings at Innis Town Hall for finalists. The festival highlights women-driven stories and celebrates female directors, producers, writers, and artists in film. Its mission is to discover, promote, screen, and award female filmmakers and stories about women globally. We announce the latest seasonal winners.
