"The Piano Tuner" is a short drama film that follows Antonia, who feels isolated in her marriage. She discovers an unforeseen connection when Angelo, a mysterious piano tuner, visits. The music stirs up old memories and concealed truths, turning a quiet afternoon into a moment of life-altering choice.
Nicole Giroux, a writer and director, was born in New York City and grew up in France and the UK. She studied English as an undergraduate at Tufts University and later attended the Graduate Dramatic Writing Program at NYU.
Nicole initially trained as a classical dancer and actress before shifting her focus to writing and directing. She discovered that this early training greatly benefited her in crafting stories and characters, as well as in directing actors. Nicole is captivated by human behavior and the universal desire for freedom and beauty, along with the ways individuals pursue these ideals.
“The Piano Tuner” marks Nicole’s debut in short filmmaking, originating from a question: What causes two people to instantly connect and transform? Nicole is in the process of expanding this story into a feature film.
