The Montreal Independent Film Festival has proudly showcased films for many years at Cinema du Parc, a distinguished indie film venue in Montreal, and through online platforms like the MIFF magazine. Founded by Arsalan Baraheni, a celebrated Canadian filmmaker, the festival has assembled a team of international and Canadian programmers and juries from the film industry to expertly select, promote, award, and screen independent films and shorts of all genres from around the world. Recently, winners and nominees from Cannes and the Oscars, along with artists worldwide, have eagerly participated in the festival's competition and presented their films.

The latest annual finalists of the Montreal Independent Film Festival were screened at Cinema du Parc on May 10th, 2026, attracting sold-out crowds of indie film enthusiasts. Attendees were captivated by a diverse array of indie films across genres such as animation, documentary, drama, comedy, and experimental. The cinema proudly featured films from Canada, France, Australia, the UK, India, and beyond.

MIFF was a dynamic celebration of creativity and innovation in cinema, providing filmmakers with a powerful platform to present their stories and connect with an enthusiastic audience. As independent cinema thrives, festivals like the Montreal Independent Film Festival play a vital role in supporting and amplifying the voices of emerging indie talents in the film industry.

Each season, the programming committee meticulously selects films and script projects from numerous submissions, nominating artists for various competition categories that offer awards and honorable mentions in areas such as acting, directing, cinematography, screenwriting, editing, music video, experimental cinema, animation, student film, and more. The festival also honors films that address human rights, environmental, and social issues globally. We are excited to reveal the winners and honorable mentions of the seasonal festival. It is our pleasure to announce the latest seasonal winners of the fest.

MIFF Canada is passionately devoted to independent films and the cinematic arts. The festival committee, comprising independent filmmakers, distributors, agents, and artists, is committed to establishing one of Canada's most prestigious international film festivals. MIFF Canada will host continuous screenings at Cinema du Parc, showcasing a variety of indie short films and feature films from all genres throughout the year, with annual screenings taking place at the cinema.

The Montreal Independent Film Festival's selection of international indie shorts sounds like a great platform for discovering fresh cinematic voices. For those who enjoy supporting independent creators, a game like kart bros offers a similar spirit of grassroots creativity, with its fast-paced multiplayer action that feels both polished and community-driven. kart bros

Loved hearing that the May 10th screenings sold out — Cinema du Parc is the perfect spot for this kind of lineup. The mix of animation, docs, and experimental work from so many countries is exactly why MIFF keeps standing out. Hoping to catch a few of the finalists online through the magazine soon. landman s3

I generally get bored with driving games rather quickly however eggy car has a nice mix of challenge and reward. Each level is a little puzzle where timing is more important than speed.
