Johnny Depp’s Hollywood Comeback Continues in a Twisty Thriller
Lionsgate has unveiled a trailer for “Day Drinker,” a thriller directed by Marc Webb featuring Johnny Depp, Madelyn Cline, and Penélope Cruz. The movie is set to premiere in theaters on March 26, 2027.
In this thriller movie, Cline plays Lorna, a bartender working on a private yacht. During one of her shifts, she meets Kelly (Depp), a mysterious guest on board.
As they get to know each other, they end up in some dangerous situations. The main threat is Cara Lazaro (Cruz), a criminal figure tied to what's happening.
Directed by Marc Webb and written by Zach Dean, Lionsgate has dropped the teaser trailer for the film, which is set to hit theaters in March 2027. In it, Depp's character is telling his story to Lorna.
The clips suggest Kelly has some connection to the criminal world, either now or in the past. His violent encounters show he's made some enemies along the way. After the teaser came out, people started speculating that Depp's character might be a vampire, with several hints, including the playful title, pointing in that direction.
There's also a lot of chatter about Depp's unusual accent, which seems to be an attempt at an Irish one. While he's known for his voice work in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, some viewers aren't too impressed with this accent.

Some viewers think the character's background might explain the strange accent, with one user noting: "He's mixing multiple accents in the same sentences - and even explains why in the trailer. It's honestly impressive."
